Quick Hunt at Creekside Park

Woke up to a bit of snow this morning so I thought my metal detecting plans would be out the window. I ended up having to go into work for a few hours and luckily the weather was much better closer to the city.

Creekside is a busy park with quite a few visitors every day. The main attraction is the disc golf course on the park, but also makes for some good treasure hunting ground. Although there wasn't snow on the ground, it was still very cold outside so the trip was pretty short.

Here are my finds for the day. I think I was only out for 30-45 mins max so not bad for such a short hunt. The most intriguing find was the shorter piece of iron near the top left of the photo. I'm not exactly sure what it is but it was giving a really good signal about 8 inches down. Its very dense and heavy but I will have to do some research to figure out what it might be.
Aside from the trash, total finds were $0.37! Haha, not much when you mostly pull pennies but still fun to dig. (2 dimes, 1 nickel, 12 pennies)

I'm going to be starting a bucket of junk that I will eventually scrap. Right now I am thinking one for aluminum and another for iron/brass. I also am going to make a DIY electrolysis system soon and will post how some of the cleaning goes.
